Domestic violence education

The mother of Hannah Fisher who was murdered by her boyfriend in 2009 has called for education on the issue of domestic violence to be made compulsory in schools. She believes that if children are educated as to how a healthy relationship works and what controlling behaviour looks like then there is less risk of them getting involved in such a relationship as they grow up.

Domestic violence can affect anyone but it is known that a victim of domestic violence will not report the behaviour until they have been subjected to violence on more than one occasion.

Legal aid is still available for victims of domestic violence in many cases. To see how we might be able to help you please contact us for an initial chat.
