Funding Your Case.
It is always a difficult question for any client – how will I pay for it?
Higgins Miller Solicitors do undertake cases funded through Legal Aid for those clients who are eligible. However next year will see massive changes which will see most cases involving children or divorce no longer eligible for Legal Aid regardless of financial circumstance.
For those clients who are funding their case themselves we know that it is not always easy and try to adopt a flexible approach that best suits your circumstance.
We offer a first appointment of 1 hour for £50 (+VAT). At that appointment we will discuss your case with you and provide you with sound legal advice followed up in writing to enable you to decide how best to proceed. This is very different from the free first appointments that some firms offer which sometimes last only 15 minutes with little or no advice given.
Whether starting or responding to a divorce we provide a competitive fixed fee scheme for those cases where it is suitable.
In other cases we can discuss with you what best suits you including regular monthly payments to help you budget for your costs.
People can be put off from seeing a solicitor because of what they fear it will cost. That can be costly in the end.
