“More children should be in care,” say MP’s.

A committee of MP’s has recommended that more children should be in foster care.

The House of Commons Education Select Committee has concluded that more children should be placed in foster care warning that too many children are left in circumstances of chronic neglect.

They also stated that in their opinion too many parents were given too many opportunities to improve their circumstances causing children to be left at home far longer than is in their best interests.

At Higgins Miller we recognise that a child’s welfare is the most important issue but we also feel that parents need to be offered the help and support that they need to turn things around when they have difficulties which affect their parenting ability.
