Many more people than the Government has estimated will be affected if the proposed cuts to legal aid become reality. Research be the Legal Action Group shows that “the government’s prediction that 502,000 people would lose access to civil legal aid had ‘grossly underestimated’ the impact of its cuts, putting the true figure at more than 650,000”.
